Welcome to the Zonta Club of Minneapolis
The Zonta Club of Minneapolis is part of Zonta International, a world-wide organization of women in business and the professions working to improve the political, legal, health, economic and professional status of women.

Every two years the Minneapolis Club votes in a new beneficiary and sometimes it stays the same for a while. Club Members are encouraged to invite program directors to speak to the Club about their particular projects and needs. They must fulfill the criteria of the Zonta goal, to improve the status of women and their children.

Past Service Project

Wayside Treatment Center
Established in 1954, Wayside House is one of the nation’s oldest treatment centers devoted exclusively to the needs of women. Wayside House began as the vision of Sarah Mary “Sally” DeVay, a Honeywell employee who created a home for women who had “fallen by the wayside” and energized the business community, psychiatric professionals, and faith communities to help. For these first women and girls suffering from homelessness and unemployment, Wayside House was often the only home they had ever known.

Much more than a treatment center, Wayside provides intense, personalized, caring, and long-term support to help women not only recover from addiction and mental illness, but also achieve their full potential as parents, workers, and community members.
